In the late 1700’s a tradition began in Great Britain where patrons would commission an artist to paint a miniature portrait of their eye and place the image in a beautiful brooch to be given to their loved one. Though this need not be a gift for someone you love I feel it serves a similar purpose. It bares witness to the interactions of the wearer and reminds all who come under its gaze that the person before them is loved and protected. Call me a cornflake but this has always been my intention.

I’ve been fascinated by eyes forever, unable to escape my desire to explore the depths of their entrancing forms through these multitudes of iterative designs. Maybe after a thousand I will finally understand the secrets they hold.
